In March 2023, Tampa Magazine mailed surveys to the over 10,000 doctors who currently practice in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. They obtained this list from the Florida Department of Health in February 2023.
Tampa Magazine asked the doctors to nominate the peers they believe to be the best in 70 different specialties, then return the surveys in anonymous prepaid return envelopes or online using their randomly assigned, unique survey number. The online surveys require the unique survey number, and each survey number can be used only once. They then tally the votes from the mail-in and online surveys to compile the 2023 Top Docs List, to be published in our August 2023 issue
